Double Z fold card

I really like "different cards" card that are not your average run of the mill open from the right! When I saw this double z fold card, I knew I wanted to give it a whirl!! and the Authentique PP are just perfect and soft! I cannot believe I haven't heard of them before. They have definitely been elevated on my fav list.

I must admit though, I did have another embelishement on my opening and It just didn't do it for me!!! I found the nestabilities lacey circles and large/small circles are a must have for any stash as they can quick fix anything and make it look fabulous!.

Here is my card for today. I have just christened my new sizzix alpha from stampin up and I think these will be getting a huge work out in the future!!! love love love them.

I embossed a Hero Arts background stamp on glossy paper and then with distress inks created a gorgeous reddy orange card. Ive used the sizzix die for the letters and I am really happy with how it turned out.

I really love my PTI "you" die as well. I have been busy USING my stash rather than just adding to it and basically everything I used today would be for the first time *blush* I even had to ring a friend to ask how to use the MFT flower die (down the bottom!)

I hope you are keeping a list of the words from each blog as it WILL make sense at the end!!!!

I have created two cards for this blog hop! I wanted to try a technique that I thought of in the middle of the night and quite happy and chuffed with myself too....... that is until I saw a similar idea on a Christmas card whilst blog hopping!!!

In my creative dream..... I used verigated twine on my heart. I didn't like the pink to red so I decided on all red.

As I've been married for waaaaay over 20 years and we haven't swapped cards for about 20 years.... I think these will be relegated to the stash box! lol

We have the most amazing group of ladies that make up Frosted Designs DT! Each and every one is special and has become part of the Frosted Designs family! We have several designers that will be staying on with us for another term (YAY!), but we also have some that need to step down. They will be missed but the good news for you is.... now you can apply to be part of our team!

We are looking for papercrafters of all kinds! If you make scrapbook layouts, cards, altered art items, home decor items or like mixed media.... we want you!! One of the best things about Frosted Designs (in my opinion) is that we celebrate all kinds of crafters! We are not just a scrapbooking blog or a card blog. We want to let everyone share their skills and with 3 challenges going on all the time, there is something for everyone! We would like to fill some positions on all three of our teams. Let me tell you more about each one....

Fabulous Friday Teams: We have two teams of ladies that make up our Fabulous Friday teams. The focus of this team is to use up supplies you already have laying around the house that may have been neglected and forgotten about. For this team, you should be willing to do any of the following: scrapbook layouts, cards, altered art, home decor and mixed media items!

Sketch Along Tuesday Layout Team: This team makes scrapbook layouts that are inspired by the sketches we give them.

Sketch Along Tuesday Card Team: This team makes cards that are inspired by the sketches we give them.

No matter which team you prefer, the requirments for all of our designers remain the same....
1. Be willing to commit to a six month term. Your term would start the beginning of March and go until the end of August.
2. Create a project every other week for your assigned team.
3. Share a step by step tutorial 2 times during your 6 month term. (This can be with photos or video)
4. You will be required to comment on some of the projects that are entered into our challenge each week.
5. Keep an active blog that is updated frequently.
6. Post our challenge and your project on your blog on reveal day and link back to the Frosted Designs blog.

A quick catch up.....

Hi there, sorry I have been a bit MIA I have been on a little holiday to America and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!! We arrived back in Oz on the 23rd December and Christmas was just around the corner so I have been neglectful of the old blog :-( if you want to read about our travels I started a blog, you can see it here
I decided I wasn't going to scrap this holiday as I am still STILL scrapping our 2009 Thailand holiday. I am getting the blog made into a book! Lazy I know but I surely will never catch up otherwise. It was a good way for my friends to see what we were up to whilst I was away.
When we arrived home, my lovely SIL declared Christmas was at her house this year!!!! Up until I heard this (23rd dec) I assumed it was at my house. No Biggy, I thrive under pressure!! But on hearing this was music to my ears!! Never had I been so happy (and relived) at the same time!!
The 23rd was a total loss to us as we were so jet lagged! On the 24th I was up and down the street at 9.00am looking for a parking space! Faced with the daunting task of buying prezzies for everyone ...... I am now secretly thanking the person responsible for inventing gift cards!!!
We had the most lovely of Christmas days and boxing day surrounded by my family and Mark's family with the most delicious food too.
On another note my 2012 word, after a lot of deliberation is, well it is not actually a word, but phrase taken from Michelle Bridges12wbt program.......

Hello and welcome to a brand new year! I hope it's everything you want it to be!
We have a new Frosted Designs Card Sketch designed by Diana Gonzales today and it can interpreted as decorative or as simple as you like!
I have used a centre step card today and it is so wonderfully simple and looks fabulous (well I think so!) One of my friends little niece was turning 4 and I was bursting to use my Sizzix simple numbers so voila!

Frosted Designs Sketch Challenge #7

WOW! December already!!! not long until Christmas and I am (as usual) not organised!!! I never am really!

Our new sketch is beautifully designed by Diana Gonzales and I have changed it just a little..... I didn't really want to add a lot of detail above the circle. It is such a great sketch isn't it!! I am going to keep it in my favourites file!

Here is my sample. I am loving Basic Greys Little Black Dress PP. I can imagine a LOT of wedding albums or Debutante albums being made with this gorgeous paper. It also has a masculine look to it if you want. I think they did well with this range.

to just let me get my photo and I'll leave you alone!!! It is NO USE! You will fail! resistance is useless! If I WANT a certain photo because I want to document something....NOTHING WILL STOP ME! Most of my family have learnt the hard way and some of the more agreeable ones (Christie & Lachlan) just get it over and done with as soon as possible!

I really wanted everyone to wear a Santa hat this year and I had a great little project in mind....A little book with all they wanted for that year and what they actually received (it is still in its planning stage though!)

Anyway after seeing the Prima North Country pad, with all the snowflakes, I knew what I wanted to do.....

Check out the husband on the top left! Clearly, he understands that I'm taking no prisoners! lol

I wanted a snow theme but I cannot get my head around this really as our Christmas is smack in the middle of summer...although lately it has been freezing on Christmas Day.

I am slowly working my way through Scrapbook Boutiques MFT Dies!!LOL

A Christmas Banner

When I received the Sizzix Ornate Frame #3 from Scrapbook Boutique I knew I wanted to make a Christmas Banner. The hard part was working out what actual letters to have......... did I want to make 9 frames? or what about JOY that is only 3 and will be really quick! lol
Anyway I decided on CHRISTMAS and as I am really in a Red, Teal and White phase at the moment, the colour choice was EASY!.
This is an exceptionally easy banner to make! If you Pre cut, fold etc. you can have this done in an afternoon.

When you have one child and they start to do things, it can quickly become a party trick! We would teach Christie to do things on command and then she would continually entertain our friends who would think she was so clever! I am laughing as I type this as I remember some of the things we taught her to do......

This day she had discovered the remote......I know you are asking yourself "How did it get OUT of Mark's hand?!" and if she pressed buttons the TV would change. I told you she was smart! We were sitting behind her and calling her name and she was getting quite annoyed with us disturbing her play...although she always turned around.....maybe she wasn't that smart LOL!

How quickly the weeks are flying by! I have noticed Christmas thing in all our local shops! I vow that I am going to be organised this year and not do the last minute thing that I am famous for!

Frosted Designs Sketch Challenge #4 is up and this is the gorgeous sketch designed by Debbie Burns is perfect for any project. I just love the circle and you can interpret in so many ways. Stitching, faux stitching, nestabilities.... the possibilities are endless!

Well Thank Goodness THAT month is over!!!

September is SUCH a busy (an expensive) month for us..... the three boys are the 7th, 17th and 27th and I have to be super organised and have things bought and wrapped way before otherwise it really wipes me out financially! It is especially hard these days as they want clothes and God forbid I pick them...... so now I squirrel money away and I set a limit (always go over it though!)

Aden turned 19

Gone are the days when I made their cakes..... No one wants my cakes anymore :(

the caramel cheesecake is the flavor of the year.

Don't you just LOVE instagram!!!!

and then my 21st yesterday....... Yes Aden thought it would be funny if my cake had Happy 21st! Angela! seeing as I always told them I was 21 when they were younger!!

I went out for lunch and dinner yesterday and ate way too much.....

I went to big W to get some photos printed for a retreat I am going on soon and centre stage are CHRISTMAS TREES!!! what the!! let me have my freaking birthday before we start on the Christmas thing!!!

the middle child! you hear real horror stories of "the middle child" always fighting for attention and they are "different" Running my business, I have had the opportunity to observe lots of "middle" children lol! I read a fabulous book by Michael Grose "Why First borns want to rule the world and Last borns want to change it!" I know really long title!!! But it was the best book and I thoroughly could relate to it. I have four children and the book goes through each child's place in the family and totally accurate (for me and my kiddies it is).

Lachlan is the 3rd of four children so technically he is the middle child! but that is where the similarity ends.

I have used the Basic Grey Hello Luscious from Scrapbook Boutique I don't think there is a paper from that pack I DON'T like! lol

So very sorry for not posting this earlier :( need to get my head around US central time LOL!!

Life is super busy and not helped by my daughter stealing everything of mine!!!!

my clothes, shoes, scarfs make up!!! and just recently she "borrowed" my SD reader!!.

Now I know I shouldn't have left things till the last minute but if you know me.... that is how I am! (frustrates the hell out of my husband!) A while ago my camera and computer had words and they are no longer speaking! So I had to buy an SD reader to get the photos on the computer from the camera. Well DD "borrowed" the reader and I had a deadline to meet and through some (even if I do say so myself) ingenious thinking......... I sorted it out through my ipad!!! yay me!

Anyway Frosted Designs challenge this week is clocks/time.

Love love love this photo of my Patrick just days old. Even though he was my 4th child. I love just watching him sleep (even though I should have been sleeping!)

I love nothing better than value for money AND increasing my stash at the same time.
I love embossing folders too and have quite a few in my stash. These two cards are from one sheet of kraft and the step by step on how to make them can be found at Scrapbook Boutique

I have made these using the QuicKutz circles folder and I loved it soooo much I bought the retro squares too!!! I have become obsessed with Spellbinders Nestabilities and I am working my way towards owning EVERY ONE!!! hehehehehe!

Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge....

Frosted Designs challenge this week is awesome..... Gel pens or markers!!!!! I was going to give my copics a whirl but I love doodling borders and I haven't done a LO in a while.......

I have had pets all my life and when we started our family, my hubby and I knew we wanted our children to have a pet too. We decided on a kitten to start with as we knew (I Knew!!) that I would be the primary care giver!!!!

Having a pet teaches the kiddies responsiblities when they have to feed, groom and exercise their pet. I did all this BTW!!

We got Bonnie for Christie's 4th birthday and she just love her and the poor kitten was deathly afraid of Aden who was two at the time (who wouldn't be!).

Never a bother for the 16 years we had her. It was her one year anniversary last month and we miss her terribly still!

Anyway loved my doodle border and heart. Hope you can play along.

I seriously cannot go anywhere and just get there without getting lost at least twice!!! I go to Jeff's Shed (Melbourne Exhibition Centre) at least three times a year and you would think I could get there unscathed......... NOPE! I did at least 3 circuits of the city and finally came to the underground car park and in sheer frustration and relief I turned in and parked there!! I got there about 10 to 1 I think and after a quick go around and a look at the quilts I left there at 2.15ish and was charged $24!!!! what a rip off!!! that is just about as bad as the airport parking (don't get me started on that rort!)

anyway I bought a few goodies and really resisted the gorgeous fabric which was

OH SO GORGEOUS....... I am so proud of myself!! I need to finish the projects I have started and then I will allow myself to buy.......

This quilt was Best In Show and I haven't done it justice with the photo (taken on my iphone) cant believe I went somewhere without my camera......

This is absolutely stunning and took my breath away! It won a heap of awards and rightly so! The work in it was amazing.....

This log cabin was brilliant. I am scared of log cabin..... nah I don't really have the patience and the current quilt I am working on requires LC for my border but noooooo I have modified and just having two large borders.

You cannot believe how SMALL this is! I was suitably impressed!

A close up and just to let you know the red square in the middle is smaller than a 5c piece!

This quilt was equally stunning and so very unusual in that it wasn't a conventional quilt shape! I just loved it. Again my photography doesn't do it justice but the dress just keeps on going and the work involved would have taken simply ages to complete.

and another one that caught my eye! My next quilt...(after I finish all my UFO's) will be something with circles. I know that doesn't look like circles but if you look closely it has a rounded shape.

I thoroughly enjoyed looking and dreaming...

then I had to go home and yes...you guessed it GOT LOST! I was doing so well and then in the wrong lane and ended up doing the city circuit and going home along the Westgate!!!! what a loser!!!

Lovin' Basic Grey....

I am having a little love affair with Basic Grey again.... I loved every range when I first started scrapbooking and after a while I "evolved" lol and sort of outgrew their, I think, repetitive ranges with different names.
I have a problem though using 'older' BG ranges and can only scrap with their new stuff! Is that scrapbook snobbery.? well there is always some worthy recipient of my incredibly large stash that I have started regularly started to purge......

I fall in love regularly and instantly with ranges and HAVE to have IT ALL!!! I am a shop owners dream customer!! I have learnt to curb my addictions and shop responsibly....... I talk on a forum and one friend has in her signature "My husband lets me have as much scrapbooking supplies that I can hide!" well I just can't hide anymore and have to start using it!

Anyway back to topic..... I received this gorgeous 6x6 pack of Basic Grey Out of Print and some gorgeous BG Pop out stickers from Scrapbook Boutique and I love love love the PP. I am such a fan of distressed and messy ( you should see my scraproom!) I have kept the theme of the 210mm x 150mm and they are all so very easy to make.....go HERE to see a step by step tutorial.

Christmas in July !!!!!

At Scrapbook Boutique we are celebrating Christmas in July.

This photo was taken in 1991 and it was Christie's 2nd Christmas. She was eighteen months old and a little more aware of something special happening and quite excited she would be getting presents from Santa. Although her maternal grandmother couldn't bear the thought of Santa getting all the credit, and kept telling Christie which presents were from her! (yes mum that is you!!!)

We took her to Highpoint for her Santa photos and she was really looking forward to it until it came time to get on his knee and I moved away! You can't see but in the photo I am kneeling right down next to the chair! She didn't scream but I could tell she wasn't too sure if this was a good idea and really worth it! Thank goodness it was quick and I got my photo!

The Hero Arts Wreath of Leaves stamp is gorgeous and I love the look the white embossing powder gave it along with the pearls. If you want to see how this was done....go to the Scrapbook Boutique here

Over at Wicked Princesses we have having a little game called Scrapping whispers. The first person emails a copy of their LO and they "interpret" as they want and then email to the next person and so on.

Don't know if I am allowed to put up Donna's LO but it was gorgeous and this was my interpretation.....

just another stupid photo taken. This looks especially bad as Mark's nose was actually broken and bruised at the time too! I am interested to see what the next persons interpretation of my LO is.......

Last weekend I went to Portsea for a quilting retreat and had the best time! I have nearly completed the top of my "Home is where the heart is" quilt which is 7 years in the making........not that it has taken 7 long years of sewing, I have put it away and forgot about it! I have one last bit to blanket stitch and two borders to do and then it is off to the quilters as I will never hand quilt again and besides it is way too big anyway!. I think it is a little bigger than a queen but I wouldn't call it a king.
I don't think I laughed as much in ages! I thoroughly recommend retreats (of the craft of your choice) I know there is a lot to organise....especially for the mum with littlies, but call in the favours and you will not regret it!
On the down side my iphone decided (for no apparent reason) decided to die and NO I DIDN'T HAVE IT BACKED UP!!! i didn't know you could do that! Really hard lesson to learn but I have learnt.......
anyway I'll get over it!

A friend of mine turned 50 and I was assigned (well I volunteered) to make the card!
Has all my favourite elements..... that GORGEOUS DOILY!!! that GORGEOUS MFT stamp & Die and I am LOVING the ribbon from Trudi I think I have some in EVERY COLOUR!!! I think I have an addictive personality!! I also used my PTI numbers I wanted the 50 to be subtle so I used the same PP.
Anyway off to do some work!

Here is another LO I did at the Wicked Princess retreat and Krissy did a class on how to make the gorgeous vine at the bottom with paper clips and paper lunchbags!

I know banners are all the range too at the moment and I just cut this from kraft and buzz&bloom chipboard alpha from my stash! Don't you just love using items that have been lying around for ages.......? And those stunning flowers are from Prima and MVB I had a MASSIVE purchase of flowers (don't know why as I don't really use them that much lol) but they are so pretty, I couldn't help myself.

I am in two minds if I want to put this on a canvas or not but at the moment it is in my acrylic frame showing off!

Scrapbook Boutique and I just love all the colours and couldn't wait to "whip" a few cards.

How gorgeous is the doily from Cherry Lyn!!!! I borrowed it from Sue and punched out a dozen from my scraps! I will definitely have to buy myself one as I just love it!! I am also in lurve with this stamp set and matching die from My Favourite things

Aside from a few things, everything is in the pack (which happens to be on sale ATM!)

This Prima flower & twine was a perfect match for this card.

I am a total fan of dots & stripes & stars and any pack that comes out .....I am hooked! I just received a gorgeous pack from Scrapbook Boutique of all DOTS & STRIPES!!!
My fellow DT'er Sue has an unexplainable fascination with dots too!
I did just HAVE to have both the boy & girl pack and although I am not a bright paper scrapper per say...... I do really like the Candy Shoppe pack just as much as the darker Metropolitan pack. I have used nearly EVERY single sheet of both packs!!!

Aden went to Japan with his school in 2007 and he happened to be away for his fifteenth birthday. I have never had a child away for their birthday and I must say I didn't like it one little bit! :( I was lost! I like to make a fuss and take a zillion photos and make their favourite dinner and make/buy their special cake. Well It was like a normal day for us although, we did have a family photo and held on to a photograph of him lol.
When he came home, we made a fuss of him but he was so exhausted from his flight, he just did the cake and fell asleep for the next 16 hours!!! Got my photos and a nice cuddle to boot so I was happy!

This is a pic of my #3 Lachlan. The most placid, easygoing, happy child and a true blessing!! He is nearly 16 now and I just love him to pieces! This kid has never given me an ounce of trouble (watch out my friends say.....) He was born when there was lots going on in our lives and he is always content to wait without a fuss! He is the only sibling that gets on with everyone in our house

( NO MEAN FEAT let me tell you!) He has an uncanny knack for numbers and he can recall scores from football matches played YEARS AGO!! He is also a natural athlete and quite successful in all sports he tries. Does well in school and has lots of friends and known in our house as the Golden Child!

Nearly 19 now and he still has an awful temper! Watch out if he feels he is being mistreated!! Aden has always had a fascination for anything that "works" and has to touch it or at least hold it. He just HAD to hold and look through the video camera this day and after Mark finally let him have a little "hold" it was time to hand it back. The "little HOLD" obviously wasn't LONG enough for Aden and the photo is the torrent of verbal abuse we endured afterwards!

I just NEVER take a good photo!!!

After I lost all my baby weight from having Aden, and there was HEAPS to lose! A friend who was a armature photographer, just bought a new camera and asked if she could take some random shots. Not posed, but just natural ones of the kids and I together. I just hate them (of me) loved them of the kids!so I still need to "get over myself" and stop being so critical and just let the pic be taken!!! I recently went to a friends 50th and there was a slide show of the birthday girl and she must of had 1000 photo's with her in them!! I said to Mark, you'd be luck to find 10 of me!!! If I ever went missing and they needed a recent picture for identification, they just wouldn't find one or if they did find one, they wouldn't find me because I look 10-15 years older! and they'd be looking for someone different! lol

I have been itching to use this MME Animal Soup PP and I do have plans for it & a Kiaser OTP (so stay tuned for that!) I just adore this pic of my #3 Lachlan aka Golden Child. I would have really like to journal more, but I just couldn't really think of what to write or how to incorporate it in the page. Might have rescrap this one LOL (at this rate I'll never get their albums done if I keep rescrapping! )

Also at the retreat (and sorry I haven't updated about the retreat! ) A brilliant weekend, where I met up with some LOVELY GORGEOUS ladies, I have been chatting to for the past two years. It was so nice to meet them in real life, although I felt like I knew them already!. The accomodation was perfect and the room we were in was brilliant, food was delicious and lots of it!! I just loved every minute and I had a ball with my two patners in crime Nai & Danielle! we laughed and teased (especially Danielle and her organising abilities lol long story) and I have found out I SO WANT/NEED an ipad!!!! I desperately want to go back next year but a family function is going to prevent me :( sucks to be me as it booked out within minutes!!!

I really love the colours in the Cosmo Cricket pack from Scrapbook Boutique. This is my favourite photo of my family, taken on Christmas day last year. I just couldn't be bothered setting the camera for an auto shot, so I just took the photo myself and then got one with the kiddies myself. Last year we took the family photo just before we went to bed! nearly forgot completely! So I thought, as we were having Christmas at our place, and we know how hectic that can be.......... better safe than no pic at all!

Frosted Designs Ribbon challenge

It is all happening in my life at the moment!!!! so many things (won't share here) are taking my time and I am struggling to keep my head above water!! apologies for not posting this on Friday. Frosted Designs challenge this week is Ribbon & Twine and I had a gorgeous Vintage kit from Wicked Princesses and thought they would suit my Lo perfectly. I have this adorable photo of Christie on a swing. I just love this photo and I used my ribbon and the swing. Worked really well I thought.

Our GDT is week is Jessica and she has created a gorgeous Lo with some weaving! Go and check out the DT creations, they are very creative.

Remember a few weeks ago when I was patting myself on the back for getting my Mother's day card done and ready to go.....? well it is sitting on my desk!!!! NOT POSTED!! I cannot believe it! I must have thought as I already have made it I crossed it off my TO DO list!!

Anyway to make amends.... I have also made a little box FULL of lovely heart choccies and a gift card for her!

I received some from Scrapbook Boutique DELICIOUS Cosmo Cricket Cira 1934 paper pack! Oh simply gorgeous! There is not a sheet I won't use Red, Black and Cream!!! lovely!

This is a really quick little gift box and can be used for any occasion really.

Just get two 12 x 12 patterned paper of your choice (co ordinating works well) or even cardstock is nice too!

Cut the PP that you want for the BOTTOM box to 11.5 inches X 11.5 inches.

fold all the corners in to the centre as shown below.

Fold in to the centre (as shown below) turn the paper around and repeat on other side. Repeat again on the other two sides.

open one side (as shown below) and pinch the two corners so they meet in the middle.

fold the flap over and tuck it all in. Repeat on opposite side.

Do the same for both boxes and they SHOULD look like the pics below!

Cut a strip of plain cardstock 12 inches X 2.5 inches and another co ordinating strip 12 x 1 inch.

attach and wrap around the box and then wrap an organza ribbon and tie two bows.

Cut three scalloped circles,

distress each circle and adhere together with a pearl brad.

attach with a glue dot and push up against ribbon.

fill with chocolates a gift card, jewellery (might leave an empty one on the bench for my lot!)

I can't believe what is going on at FROSTED DESIGNS so much fun!! check out their Facebook page too.

Well my challenge is to SEW yes SEW with a machine on your page!!! I know most of you will have a sewing machine! Lets face it most of us are craft TRAGICS and have done some quilting and making clothes and pyjamas for our kiddies!! I probably NEVER use my machine for material anymore! Just a word of warning, you should really have a needle suitable for jeans and heavy duty material but having said that!!...... I just use a ordinary needle and have never had any problems.!

I thought this photo would be perfect for Mother's Day ( here in Australia tomorrow April 8th)

This is a VERY EASY & QUICK LO!!

Just grab 2 co-ordinating PP and use one for your background (the darker one)
cut the lighter one 7 X 10 in.
I have distressed the smaller sheet (because I am a distress QUEEN)
GET that machine out and stitch around the larger sheet and the smaller sheet. you can use normal straight stitch or zig zag it is up to you. You can also use any thread colour you want too!
Around the bottom I lightly drew some flower stems so I could use as a guide.
Stitch along your guide marks and just hit REVERSE on your machine. I actually just went crazy as you can see! lol
Attach your flowers ( My are MVB from Wicked Princesses!)
Attach your photo with two little threaded water punch and a scalloped border punch ADD you photo and your sentiment with some letter stamps! My Stamp-a-ma-jig was ESSENTIAL for correct placement but stickers would work just as well!! I embossed my new Stampin Up Itty Bity Bits with white embossing powder and attached randomly.

See! I told you.... EASY! have a go and DON'T be scared and I'd love to see what you come up with! Upload your LO on the Frosted Designs site (great prizes there too)

A new Fabulous Friday Challenge

Frosted Designs have got a new challenge today "Stripes & Polka Dots" I have put my own little twist on the stripes. I didn't really want to introduce some stripey paper so I rolled a ballpoint pen in a versamark ink pad and created some stripes.

This is a picture of my only daughter and myself, last year. It is nice having a girl in a house with lots of boys! and besides being mother and daughter we are friends too!

I really love Case's Muse this month! Silke Ledlow is a pretty awesome cardmaker! all her cards are really clean and polished looking!!!

how gorgeous is the colouring! Just beautiful! I pretty much cased the colours and design, and it came together quickly.

I borrowed the Stampin Up Just believe set (love love love) from Nai and I churned out quite a few cards...........

I just love this week's card at Case Study their muse this week is Julee Tilman. This card is simply stunning! I loved the greens ( my fav colour!) and the DT had some beautiful inspiration too!

Isn't it just beautiful and I think I have found a new card blog to stalk!!

I decided to get my Mother's Day card organised! I need to post it early so it gets there on time.

I have used my Martha Stewart scor-pal (going to have fun with that) and as promised, I am working my way through my stamps. I have used the PTI Larger than Life set with the die as well. OMG I love this set!!!! along with my Stampin' Up DP and some bling, I am really happy how it came together and all ready and waiting to be posted!

The other day, I went and watched my two littlies, Lachlan & Patrick compete at MSAC (Melbourne Sports Aquatic Centre) for their interschool swim sports. I am super proud of them as they haven't been in the water since this time last year and they placed in every event they competed in! They are fit though and have always had good technique so maybe their competitive nature kicked in!

Better start scrapping these ribbons! lucky (for me) I have recorded all their races and times and write on the back of the ribbon too! save the arguments later..........

so here goes:
1. I am terribly short sighted and wear contact lenses.
2. I only like to drink my tea & coffee out of fine bone china mugs (not chunky mugs)
3. I only have a teaspoon of milk in my tea/coffee (I make the kids measure to be sure)
4. I have to sit facing the same direction the car/bus/train/plane is going.
5. I never touch hand rails when going up/down stairs (neither does Mark now!)
6. I always read for a half an hour or a chapter before going to bed/sleep
7. I cannot resist a peppermint aero bar!
8. I was born in England.

well just reading back I reckon I have OCD! lol what a weirdo!

anyway enough of me! well that goes against my blog header hahahahahaha!

My anniversary surprise!

I had the BEST weekend ever!

Last year, some really cheap flights came up with Jetstar and I just couldn't resist....... $45 to go to Sydney. But I had to think of an excuse to go to Sydney that suited the conditions (dates available) and it just so happened.... that the dates coincided with our wedding anniversary! voila!

Mark really admires Matt Moran (the chef from Masterchef) so I also booked a table at his restaurant.

The plane ride was awful and I have decided that I do have an abnormal fear of flying! I think I nearly broke poor Mark's thumb I bent it back so hard! (need to work on my self calming techniques!)

We caught a train to Circular Quay and had brekki with a terrific view of the bridge (it was raining ....well throwing it down actually!) but who cared! not us!

Our hotel was just a 4 minute walk and when we got there, they upgraded us to a Harbour View room (yee har) I was so excited! they asked if we were in Sydney for anything special and when I told them and they sent up a bottle of red! so I was even happier! lol How awesome is that view?!?!?

We went exploring the markets and I could have spent a LOT more time (and money) if Mark wasn't there!
Great market with FABULOUS handmade items but GB (grumpy bum) kept hurrying me up! The rain never let up so we had to buy an umbrella! then we made our way to the Rocks to see just where Aria was from the hotel.
Explored the Opera House

Mark wouldn't turn around for a photo (GB) I haven't been up those stairs for 25 years! still looks fabulous and there was heaps going on! As it was wine o'clock we decided to pass a couple of hours soaking up the sun! (well the brief respite from the rain) at the Opera House bar and shared a plate of dips for lunch.

hehehehe Mark couldn't believe I was taking a pic of the dips! you just have to document it all! Those dips would have to go down as my FAV so far! and we are working our way through Australia! It was so nice to just sit and people watch, chat and not have a care in the world!

When we got to the restaurant, we were shown to the BEST table in the place it had the most magical view!!! (I suppose that is what happens when you book 7 months in advance!) we were second table on the left!!!

hehehehe before you think I was a bogan and taking pics in the restuarant......... (thought about it) I took this pic from the website!

while we were deciding on the wine, Matt Moran stood and chatted to the people on the table beside us! I nearly peed myself! he posed for a photo with them and I said to Mark I am so getting a photo (just happened to have my baby in my handbag.....) but a stupid PA/waitress dragged him away! :(
The meal was everything we'd hoped for! It was simply divine we had the scallops for entree spiced and roasted with a salad of heirloom carrots, young coconut and a coriander and yoghurt dressing and Mark had roasted fillet and cheek of beef with celeriac puree, roasted onions and Bordelaise sauce and I had roasted breast of pasture fed chicken with ‘mac and cheese’, mushrooms, leeks and turnips and we shared some Truffled potato mash (just C & pasted that lol)
and just because we didn't want it to end, we both had the raspberry soufflé with white chocolate ripple ice cream and they wrote this little message on the plate awwww! :)

During dinner, there was a spectacular light show with the the Opera House as the backdrop. It was just brilliant. I didn't want to start clicking away in the restaurant so I waited until I was outside and I was happy with a few of them.

we walked back to our hotel thoroughly exhausted and unbelievable full!

Just in time too as the heavens opened up again!

I took these two from our hotel room and I haven't edited (well just lightened a little) how magnificent!

Aside from the AWFUL plane ride ( my problem though) We had the most enjoyable time!

well almost!!!! how young and skinny did we look!!! I am not a fan of wedding photos framed and on display but after about 10 or so years.....when we didn't look young skinny and beautiful.... I decided to get the big photo we got for free ENLARGED and framed! hahaha! I crack up when I see this photo! Isn't it funny how you would change almost everything thing you did, (if you had your time over again!) I think I would change absolutely everything! especially the bridesmaids!I had 4! (ridiculous) I haven't seen one of them since the wedding day and two I haven't had any contact for years and I see my SIL all the time thank goodness~!

When all my kidlets were born, their father bought them all a teddy. All pretty much the same, Christie's was pink and the boys all had blue. They all loved their teddy and called them 'daddy teddy' To get Aden and Lachlan to bed, I would (do anything! lol) let them jump in together with their Daddy Teddies and have a bottle (what was I thinking??? peace probably!) as this was 1997 I was pregnant with my 4th so those of you with kiddies........you know what I mean!

They all still have their teddy bears, although a little ragged but much loved.

got my little badge yesterday and I can proudly display this on my blog! Must admit I feel a little bit of a fraud! as I haven't really displayed enough or done enough colouring................yet! stay tuned!!! I am slowly working my way through my stamp sets.... you know how in my previous post I said I wanted to use every set by the end of the year? well, I think I might make that next June! lol I went through them the other day and I have way too many!

Here is my Aden, proudly displaying his epaulets. He is really enjoying his self at the moment! He has done more flying in the last 4 weeks than he had all last year! I don't know how he will keep the pace up with his basketball and study as well as the four hours a day travel! (by train! lol) but he is young and the young have boundless energy!

My life is so busy that I cannot even see my scrap room let alone get IN THERE!!! I am doing lots of teaching atm! And we have an AQUAROBICs classes which are running at the pool and I joined in on Thursday and it was fabulous! and I felt fabulous afterwards too! the good thing is that it is completely PRIVATE and no one there to watch! The Kismet Aquatic Centre is now on facebook with all the details so go and 'LIKE" us and join in if you are in the area (you have to book with Suzanne her number is there)
Along with a few of my teachers Uni schedule changing, I have to take up the slack on some classes! I am in the water sometimes twice a day! I really want to find a PROPER WATERPROOF mascara!! I think I am scaring the kiddies with my panda eyes lol! I have to train the kids not to spit (well not spit but breathe water in my face!) I sound like I am complaining but I am enjoying it although I want to straighten my hair!.......

anyway...... I am coming to the end (sob sob) of my time with The Pink Elephant next week will be my last challenge! I have thoroughly LOVED LOVED LOVED being with these girls and this last year has been fabulous, I have learnt so much and (unfortunately for my DH) developed an unhealthy devotion/obsession for copic markers......... my stash is growing fast (no thanks to Di at Scraphaven who keeps ordering more!!!)
anyway I booked in to do a beginner Certified course the other day with Di & Ange oh it was fabulous! I learnt so much and (unfortunately for DH) I want to do the next Intermediate course and get even more markers.........lol Still I have lots of practice to do before I reach the lofty heights of some.....
We even got a certificate ! I loved it I have to work out how to get my IPHONE photos (bmp) to a jpeg!! then I could show you our little photo!

A new DT and a great challenge to start with!
Fabulous Friday Challenge at Frosted Designs this week

This week is a recipe challenge... we would like for you to use:
     3 patterned papers
     2 fonts
     1 journaling tag

That's it! Oh the possibilities?! And remember, it can be a card, layout or any other project you would like to make...it just has to have those three things!

hehehehe I remember this day so vividly! Because Christie was such a fussy eater, I sort of only gave the others what she liked and didn't expose them to everything! This particular day, I made a fruit platter for Mark and myself and some friends we had over and Lachlan was pointing and wanting to try. He had already had banana and apple (because Christie liked them lol) and I gave him pineapple and strawberry and he was horrified at the taste! He only like the grapes after all that anyway! hahahah (still fussy after all these years but just discovered strawberries are yummy!)

I have taken my inspiration from SUE this week! I loved her matroyshka dolls card with the stamping over the newsprint! loved that idea with the little bits of red and blue! I thought it looked effective. So you could say I CASED her!! lol AND I ljust looooved getting out my stamps! I have made it a mission to use EVERY stamp set I own before the end of the year! (Don't know if I can do this because I own A LOT of stamps! heheheh)

something to get the MOJO happenin'

I got this gorgeous little Oliver card kit from Scraphaven made by Basic Grey I just love it! 8 cards to QUICKLY make to 1. get the mojo flowing and 2. top up the depleted stash! They took no time at all and they are actually cute! AND I have heaps of little elements left over!

So very proud of Lachlan! He won Age Champion at the swim sports on Thursday! This was the fourth time in a row! Not too bad considering he hasn't been swimming (training) in over two years!

Aden starts Uni tomorrow and he is actually so excited! I have washed and ironed his uniform! Bleh and double bleh at ALL the shirts! anyway I will post a picture of the handsome boy tomorrow!

New Challenge @ Frosted Designs!

well on a bit of a roll! Nothing a deadline won't fix! I have been having a few problems uploading my photos to the computer as the cord has decided it doesn't like me anymore!!!

And my car blew up the other day! Some silly person where I have it serviced put petrol in instead of diesel! Someone who was behind Mark filmed it on his phone (I love iphones!!!) The company are denying it of course saying my husband must have done it! NOW if you know my husband.....that simply WOULD NOT happen LOL!

any way Frosted Designs have a few hours left for you to apply for the DT! so if you are interested...go ahead!!!

The challenge this week is METAL and I have used a metal belt buckle on my ribbon. This photo is of my three boys about 11 years ago. The are all great buddies (well most of the time) and I really love that about them. Lachlan is the peacemaker and calms things down if they get too rough. I hope they remain friends throughout their lives!

and I will tell you SPARE TIME! This time of year is really so very busy for me! I have all good intentions of pre-planning and organizing things along a time line! I plan to have all my work things done re: certificates, lollies, bookings & deposits. I plan to have all (well most) of my Christmas shopping done and wrapped (er it is 16th December and I haven't done one thing!) I plan to bake and make lots of yummy things with a Christmas theme. I plan to have my house spotless and my tree brimming with the gorgeous decorations that my kids have made over the years, that I cannot bear to part with (even though they look deformed). I plan to make my Christmas cards (each with a special unique design) and maybe even a matching envelope! and send a loving note inside detailing what we have been up to this year. BUT...... again, a week to go and I am even MORE behind than other years! Today I went to a funeral of a young girl of 25 and I watched her broken hearted parents leave the church utterly destroyed and I thought so what if I haven't got my tree up and Christmas cards done or my house is messy and I haven't done my baking or wrapped anything. I came home and hugged my children (well two of them, the other two were working) and played basketball outside and just gave them good old fashioned time and thanked God that I have them and that I will be celebrating Christmas (in my messy house) with them and my family. xx

And I LOVE getting a bottle of wine or Champagne myself! so that is what I have done this year! bought alcohol! to jazz it up a little I have copied an idea from my craft friend Sue and put my own little spin on it of course!!!! easy peasy! and I have about 8 people done & dusted!!!!

Very hectic around here at the moment will all the end of year swimming/testing stuff! Patrick has OD'ed on the lolly bags! They are on holidays now and Mark has put them to work in the garden..... First they spent an hour looking for gardening gloves.... and then they had to use my rubber gloves and I only had one pair so they then spent an hour arguing who was going to wear them! If I had been there (instead of their father!) I would have told them to have one each!

Well I don't think they are going to be landscape gardeners! They did actually do a good job and didn't complain too much! I had to get the camera as proof (and that they were wearing PINK gloves!) lol
They were so exhausted after their hour of gardening that they played PS3 while they recovered!

And Christie is busy supporting her EBAY addiction, working three jobs during her Uni break. She got a job the other day as a GRID girl at Sandown Races!

The other picture I has is very blurry and I will try and get another one! But in true Grid girl fashion, the dress was VERY short and looked great on ( oh to be 20!)

Finally got (or should I say the penny has dropped) good with my camera. I just took a couple of my beautiful roses ( it has been raining that much her at the moment) they must really like it!! LOL I am not a green thumb!

I have painted a Kaiser wooden photo frame in metallic silver and glittered the "2010" I have used a sizzix die for the Christmas trees and punched the snowflakes. It is so sparkly and I am STILL vacuuming the glitter LOL!

I have been having a few problems with my computer and I am in the process of fixing it! I have also been incredibly busy with my business and kiddies! Aden had his Year 12 graduation last week and we were so proud to see him receive a medal and award for outstanding achievement in Furnishing. What started out as light relief and a break from the Chem/Physics/Maths he discovered he has quite a talent and love of creating from scratch! (wonder where he gets that from!?) I have a feeling this will be a life long hobby. I will share some photos when his cabinet comes home. We are so very unbelievably proud of him! I really admire the determination, focus and attitude he has shown over the past 2 years and regardless of whatever mark/score he receives, I know he will always be a success in life.

I am sorry for this late post, but I have actually typed this out a dozen times (oh well maybe NOT a dozen) but a LOT! and I cannot actually seem to publish it!!! My other post was HUGE and lost it all! And at a time where I am just too busy for this NOT HAPPY JAN!!! (Aussie saying for O/S readers!!! LOL)
So here we go again..........fingers crossed everyone!
The Pink Elephant are having a "giving thanks" week and although I didn't get around to a LO :( I did get a card done! I do have so much to be thankful for <3

A my son, Aden has just finished his VCE exams, I can't help but shake my head and wonder where the HECK did this year go! I have concluded that I must be OLD now as when I was younger, the years dragged by! lol 2 kids down (through secondary school) and two to go! we are half way there and I have come through relatively unscathed ( It IS all about me don't you know!!!) Christie has finished her second year of uni, she is working three jobs now to support her EBAY clothes addiction! Lachlan & Patrick are doing their best to master COD (PS3 game) and my Mark is really settling in to semi retirement!

On the scrapping front, I have been a busy little bee...... The Pink Elephant have a gorgeous COLOUR challenge this week....RED, BLUE & YELLOW I completed my LO and realized I didn't have any Yellow!! so I threw in some little punched hearts voila! Little Christie in the bath and dad going a little overboard with the bubbles! (on purpose I suspect!)

Frosted Designs! there is a new DT with new weekly challenges, a sketch DT and weekly projects and tutorials. Along with that there are great prizes each week just by joining in!

This week's challenge is using a LARGE photo. You know the ones you get from school, footy, ballet and the family ones that just don't make it into a frame...... I must admit, I never scrap the profesional ones. ( I do, however, scan, reduce and make mini books shhhh.)
Anyway, remember my trip to Queensland? When we arrived, our apartment wasn't ready so we went for a coffee and the boys bought a soccer ball (they were having withdrawals from basketball & footy I think) and we headed off to the beach. I got some great shots of both the boys and this particular one of Paddy I just love! I remember thinking of the title below when I checked my camera!

we are off and running at Frosted Designs !!!!! Every Friday, we will have a

FABULOUS FRIDAY CHALLENGE.

This challenge is to encourage you to use up the supplies you already have in creative ways!! You are going to be seeing more projects from the DT along with the layouts and cards you have become used to! You are also going to be seeing more prizes and more variety with the prizes!! We will slowly move from monthly prizes to biweekly prizes to eventually offering weekly prizes!! WOO HOO!

I went on a retreat with my LSS Scraphaven and had a great time. I managed to complete 3 LO's before I had to race off to my cousins wedding! It was a bit of a military manoeuvre so I could maximise my time there. I had Christie dropping Mark to me and Aden picking him up. I caught up with cousins and rellos I haven't seen in ages, so it was great. Anyway I had a massive headache on the Sunday, so I didn't get anything done :( I did start a Kaiser advent box (pretty happy about doing a OTP!)
anyway here are two, one will follow (later)
